Got some new goodies from the label, a new pin design and some more stock of the older merch. Pirate Ship Records for the win! (Taken with instagram)
Hey people! This is Josh from CALLS! Taking over the Pirate Ship Records page a bit to share some photos and information from our recent venture with Labirinto, and muse a little on our upcoming plans.
We played three shows in total with Labirinto, all to about the same small but appreciative crowds. We finally got to see Vasudeva perform which was awesome because those guys are one of my favorites and I really think they’re going to grow and become a huge force in instrumental.
All the shows were not short of their technical difficulties, including Alexandre (of Labirinto) losing a string mid song at Party XPO, my guitar breaking in the Lit Lounge and once again Alexandre’s guitar crapping out in Philadelphia. Luckily I was able to help restring Ale’s guitar mid song like a true guitar tech, and the show went on.
The above photo is one of my favorites from our show at the Starlight Ballroom, this was easily the biggest and nicest venue we’ve ever been lucky enough to play for. The turn out wasn’t spectacular but all the people who did show up were awesome and we all split to a diner after wards for some 1AM cheese steaks.
As for the future, we’re currently looking forward to an awesome show with Signal Hill on september 23rd, more details to come on that. As well as a free all ages show on the Island that I’m currently scrambling to book with the awesome group Vasudeva!
I imagine I’ll be back from time to time to keep this page updated, maybe we’ll get some input from other PSR bands in the future! Keep posted!
We love you
